Safety Awards 2014/2015

For the third year in succession, the Safety Group held its Charity Dinner/Dance and Safety Awards Presentation at the Willerby Manor Hotel on Saturday 14th March.

The evening’s events saw the presentation of the Safety Groups’ annual awards, which were sponsored by MKM Building Supplies Ltd, Hull and Hudson Contract Services Ltd.​

The winners of the Main Contractors Award were Hall Construction in 1st place; 2nd place to Hobson & Porter and in 3rd place Houlton.

In the Sub-Contractors award, 1st place went to PBS Construction with Tilson Scaffolding Ltd in 2nd and Contract Flooring and Interiors (CFI) taking 3rd place.

The final award was for the contractor demonstrating the most improvement in Health and Safety over the past year. This went to C.E. Pittaway with the award sponsored by Hudson Contract Services Ltd.

The evenings’ events included a fund raising game of Heads and Tails and a raffle with prizes being donated by group members and several of their trade partners, all in aid of Dove House Hospice and STAND, the local charity representing lost trawler men in Hull. These two events raised £1300.00 for the Group’s elected charities and many thanks goes to all those who generously took part.

One of the highlights of the night was the performance of the live band The Ordinary Men who soon got the party going with many of the guests up on the dance floor.

The event was attended by 146 guests including representatives from the Safety Group’s member companies and supporting trade partners and suppliers including Jewson Ltd.

The Safety Group’s Chairman, Peter Laslett, thanked all those attending for their support with special thanks to Mike Thomas and Keith Eames from MKM Building Supplies Ltd. who have sponsored the main safety awards yet again.

All in all it was a very successful evening both for the Safety Group’s members and their guests and also for Dove House Hospice and STAND.
